The first bell pepper is peaking out from my plant.....

In the middle of June, when I checked on this bell pepper plant , I was very excited to see a small bell pepper peeking out from between the leaves. At this point it is really teeny tiny, and I cannot wait for it to be fully grown.

Here is a picture of it.....

Dahlia

Dahlia was not something that I was planning to plant this spring. But when I came across a packet of three bulbs, I could not resist it and I picked it up on an impulse planning to plant it alternatively with the lily plant.
It took a good long while for the shoot to come out of the soil, but once it did the plant grew much faster. Of the three bulbs I planted, one of bulbs rotted under the soil itself, not quite sure why that happened. The other two are doing much better. Here is a picture of the dahlia plant in the first week of May.....

Lily Plant

I got a packet of lily bulbs and potted a few of them and put a few in the ground. Even though I planted about three of them in the ground at the same time their growing pace was vastly different. One of the bulbs grew faster and I could see the shoot come out of the soil in about a month. The others took about a couple of months. All three had the same amount of heat, sunlight and water. Anyway once the shoot came out, the plant grew much faster. This is how the plant looked like in about three to four weeks after the shoot first came out. I removed one of the bulbs from the container and re planted it in the ground...

This is how the plant looked when the shoot first came out.... .....

SpearMint in the First week of May

Finding this spearmint turned out to be more challenging than I expected, more often I found peppermint. But I was keen on buying spearmint and kept looking for it until I finally found it at a local garden store. I placed it in container because I have heard that mint can spread very quickly and it takes over the entire patch if placed in the ground. Moreover this way, when we are facing severe winter weather, I could even bring it inside and keep it warm.

Bell pepper plant -May first week

This is my very first attempt at growing bell peppers. I have placed it in a container and this is how it looks in the first week of May. I got it about a couple of weeks earlier when it was even more small. This one seems to grow really fast and I can see noticeable difference in it each week.
